Returning Home

Hello All!

Apologies for the MIA status.

Mr. Hubster and I evacuated to to sister’s house in WV to escape

 Hurricane Florence.

we are leaving this am to make the trip back home.

thanking the Lord that we are blessed to have family to go to,

blessed that a friends son checked on our home and all was good!

Thank you Lord for your protection of our home.

We just ask for prayers for traveling mercies.

It is our understanding that some homes were damaged by the storm.

We ask prayers for them as they go through clean up and repair.

Thank you for your loyalty and most of all, your understanding

of the situation.

I will be posting again, once I get our clean up done and life gets back to normal!

A big shout out to my sister Michele and her husband Joe, for all you did for our

safety and shelter. We were jokingly calling her home the

North Carolina Refugee Camp!

Saturday we had an impromptu cook out and birthday party celebration for

my sister Michele. Her birthday is next Monday…everyone was together, so we

celebrated her day…it was great to see everyone!

Until the next Post…Count your many Blessings, thank God, for all he has given you,

and hug those family members tight! God is good and Life is good!

Blessings and Love to you ALL!

Surviving Florence!

Just a brief note…we evacuated to my sister’s home in WV.

We will be here till we hear the ok to return to New Bern, NC.

Yes, we are a little angst, part of the fear of the unknown.

We don’t know how things are and the news is only showing one side of

New Bern, on the Neuse River. We live on the other side of the river.

I will be MIA, until we can return, assess, repair, clean, whatever we have to do.

Blessings to you ALL!

Sorry, I’ve Been MIA…

Hello Everyone, I did not drop off the face of the earth…Recouping from my Sister’s Week up in RI…lots to do since being back…housecleaning, laundry, shopping, taking care of  hubby, and most important, resting from a whirlwind week of late nights! (into early a.m.’s!) I have been busy catching up with my home front and have yet to see the Craft Room, except to make up the card kits for my Card Class on Wednesday the 12th! I did go to swim class 2 mornings, but I am tired. I am taking today off to write this and make a trek to the market for Hurricane survival stuff.

I have also done some putting away of an order I received while gone…I am getting ready to hit the Craft Room, but now, my focus is preparing for the possible Hurricane Florence…looks like we are smack dab in the line of fire…I will get back to all of you when the air clears!

Thanks for hanging in there and I will see you when all is set and I have time to play, and not just work…PS…I must mention that Mr. Hubster was alone while I was gone…He did good at keeping things picked up, but you all know how that can be!!!! Oh Well, he excels in other things! He’s still a keeper! Had to take him to Urgent Care, to address a spider bite that just didn’t look good at all…he is now taking an antibiotic!

Until my next Post…Blessings and Calmness to you ALL!

Bleach Technique!

Hello Folks!

Hopefully as you read this Post, I will be boarding my plane to come back home to NC!

This Card was made with the DSP from the Dovecraft’s Bee Happy Suite, I got in the

2018 August Issue #185 of

Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine!

This DSP looked so different from the other ‘Bee’ DSP!

I decided to dedicate a Post to this card because I used a

Bleach Technique on today’s Card!

Here is the finished Card!

I first heat embossed the 3 flowers on the right, with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I then took my Aqua Painter, instead of being filled with water, I filled it with bleach!

Good ole’ Chlorine Bleach you use in your laundry!

I painted the inside of each flower petal, oh so slowly!

As the bleach dries, you can see the bleached out effect in all the flowers!

They turned white! Just what I wanted them to do!

Now they match the flowers in the DSP!

I used Stampin’Up! stamp set ‘In Every Season’ for the 3 flowers!

They were the closet to looking like the DSP flowers!

Here is the inside of my Card!

I only had to color in the leaves on this flower!

After I unpack and get a bit settled back in…I will be posting new

Cards for Challenges, my Stamp Class AND we will also be doing

Christmas Cards! I also will show items I do for my Craft Fairs!

Until the next Post…Blessings to you ALL!

Don’t Worry, Bee Happy!

No, I did not misspell ‘Bee’ in the title!

Last Post I told you ALL about the magazine I subscribe to from the UK!

I mentioned that they send a gift with each magazine…

Usually a stamp set and embossing edge folder, or die cut.

Sometimes they send DSP along with what is in the magazine itself!

No where is this on the cover, as stated inside!!! Oops!

Here is a peek at what came in the 2018 August Issue #185!

Sorry it’s blurry…I am not that good at close-ups. But you can see…it is Bee related!

From Dovecraft…they sent DSP, a Bee die-cut, a honeycomb embossing edger,

and a stamp set!

Here are close-ups of the cards, they show for examples! Page 1

Love these!

More examples! Page 2

Oh! A third page of examples! Page 3

The Suite of Bee Happy is from Dovecraft!

Here is my Card #1

I stamped the Bee onto Crushed Curry Cardstock and die-cut him out!

The other bees and hive are Dovecraft’s too! The ‘branch’ came from

Stampin’Up! stamp set Colorful Seasons Stamp Set!

I used Early Espresso for the mats!

I used my Stampin’ Write Markers and Stampin Blends to color, where needed!

Tea Time!

Hello Everyone!

I subscribe to a magazine from UK,

named  “Cardmaking and Papercraft”

This is the 2018 August Edition, Issue 185

Each Month they send something with the magazine!

Inside each month’s Magazine, are DSP papers for your use…also examples of how you can use these papers for Cards!

Here are 8 Tea Time Bonus Papers!

Here are some ideas for those papers!

In the UK, they make 5.5″ x 5.5″ Cards, as we make the 4.25″ x 5.5″ cards!

I just adapt and make my Cards with theirs as inspiration!

Here are the Cards I made!
