I’m Here and I’m Well!

Hello Everyone!

Happy Sunday!

It feels ODD not going to Church.

The Facebook connection, just isn’t the same at all!

I am sorry I have been MIA for a good span of time.

My Brother, Jim came up from his trip to Florida

and stopped here to stay for several days.

He ended up staying a whole week!

We both were concerned of any exposure to the Virus he may have had in FL.

After a week, showing no symptoms (the guide said it would show by day 3 or 4)

He then left to go home to RI. He missed his Grands and dogs!

From his time in FL and here in NC, he was away from his home, 1 month!

It was so good to have him visit!

My Brother Jim is not one to sit still!

He volunteered to do some things that needed to be done

here at my home, that Mr. Hubster can’t do anymore.

I guess you can call it what my Sister called it…A Honey-Do List!

  1.           A piece of my siding’s edging blew off in a storm (not the Hurricane!).

He put that up for me!

2.               I had purchased a new kitchen sink with faucet and 3 bathroom faucets

2 years ago, they were sitting in my garage…

He installed the 3 bathroom faucets for me!

After several trips to Lowe’s for parts, and exchanging the wrong parts…

Jim installed the faucets…Good thing he did!

Mr. Hubster and I would have never been able to do it!

He squeezed into a 10″ opening to install all three faucets!

2 in the Master Bath and 1 in the guest bath!

Poor baby, had a bruise on his right side chest

and under arm from the cabinet edges.

We padded him with many towels, but not padded enough!

He will return after this COVID-19 thing is over,

to install the kitchen sink!

There is way more room, to work in for that, too!

He will swing by my home, after he goes to visit my Sister in WV,

that he had to forgo, because of the COVID-19

     3.                      I flipped on the kitchen light and it didn’t go on.

It is a fluorescent light with the old ballasts.

Jim suggested a new LED light, We bought, and he installed that!

When he comes back to install the kitchen sink, I may have him install

a new LED light in the laundry room, get rid of that ‘Fluorescent’ lighting!

4.                    My ‘bridge’ had floated across the creek to the other side,

during Hurricane Florence (2 yrs ago)!

All three of us worked on that!

Mr. Hubster and I couldn’t do it by ourselves at all.

We used the ‘rider mower’ to pull it into place.

My brother cut some 2″ x 4″ x 8′ into 2′ lengths

and drove them into the ground on an angle,

at each corner of the ‘bridge’,

and screwed them into the ends of the ‘bridge’.

It shouldn’t move now!!!

We also had raised the ‘bridge’ a couple of inches, with cinder blocks

and we used the half cinder blocks on the ends.

we also had to go buy pavers to sit under the lip of the ‘bridge’ ends…

…Mr. Hubster has to cross the ‘bridge’ with the mower to mow

the other side of the ‘bridge’!

(the two rows of pavers will enable Mr. Hubster to get

up on the ‘bridge’ ends to cross to the other side, to mow!)

While Jim worked on the bridge, I took my chainsaw

and cut back the tree that had fallen across the opening

to the path I like to walk.

(I could now, cross the Creek/Ditch,

using the bridge, to cut down the tree!)

It is so nice to have that access again!

Thank you Jim for all you did!

We both, Mr. Hubster and I, are so appreciative, of all Jim did for us!

We volunteered to pay for his hotel room for the night, for

his travel back up North, he wouldn’t take it.

He said ‘Family helps Family’ and he was glad he could help!

He also said…he makes more money than us!

We bought all the supplies, he did the labor.

I am grateful for ALL he did!

My Thanks is running down my cheeks as I type this.

I have started to work on some cards!

I had bought some 12 X 12 DSP from the Stamp & Craft Expo last year,

I have been using them up to make some cards!

I also was given many Card bases and envelopes

from a Lady at Church to make Cards for her Card Ministry.

I have been working on those too!

I will Post all to share soon!

Until the next Post…

Stay Home,

Wash your Hands, frequently

6′ social-distance from others,

and don’t hoard the toilet paper or other paper products…others need some too!

I went to buy napkins for my table…NONE!

What is with that?

TP and Paper products don’t cure COVID-19 folks!

Blessings and Be Kind to Others, we are all in this together!

A Mini Break…but NOT for long!!!!

Hello Friends!

So sorry, I haven’t posted for a bit…I have been busy!

My BFF from High School, Dixie…left Sunday morning.

Along with doing my laundry and regular house cleaning…you know

you don’t do that when friends are in town!

You do it before they come and then again after they leave!

All the other time is spent with them!

Outside of house cleaning and laundry on Sunday, I had to get ready for my

Garden Club Meeting for Monday morning.

I had to get the Agenda made up and e-mailed to the Board Members!

Monday was the meeting and the usual gab-fest, after the meeting!!

Had to make a run to Walmart and pick up a few items.

Came back home and cooked dinner and cleaned up…

still haven’t made it to the Craft Room!!

Had to go out again this am, met up with a woman from church…

The woman had some cardstock and envelopes to give me.

She is in charge of a ministry of cards and the papers came from

another woman, who is moving away.

Spent time matching up cardstock with the envelopes.

I have 75 Kraft envelopes and about 48 White envelopes, leftover!

I already cut cardstock to match up with other envelopes!

I think we are in cards for the church for a bit!

I am also trying to push myself to work on the cards for the next Card Class too!

It is already the 10th and the next class is April 1st!

20 days to make up 96 cards! I just broke out in a sweat writing this…!

All that aside, I still need to make cards for the Post…So, I

am asking for a bit of time here to get my stuff together!

I need to get all done, my brother is coming in for a couple of days

He will be traveling back from FL to RI via a stop here in NC and then

over to WV to visit our sister Michele.

Then back home to RI…the other 2 sisters live in RI!

(in the same town as my brother!)

A big breath and on I go!

Blessings to you ALL, until the next Post!

March Card Class…Card #1

Hello All!

Today’s Card is the first of 2 Easter Cards, made in Wednesday’s Class!

It is a Fancy Fold!

I CASEd this card from Dawn Griffith!

Dawn’s Card is with the Ladybug Stamp Set

I decided to make mine an Easter Card!

Here is the Card!

I love this bunny!

Here is the first, angle-cut card, side open!

Here is the Card, with both sides opened!

Love how this turned out! Except for the spot on lower left!

I learned that you must not use Alcohol Markers on the cover…it bleeds through!

Mind you, that is only the front rock colored!

I left it that way to show the Ladies what NOT to do!

I will punch out a little flower and adhere to that spot to cover it up!

There are many components to this card!

Lots of die-cutting for this card!

For one or two cards…not bad, but for 12! It was a lot of die-cutting!

Pool Party- card base, 8.5″ x 5.5″ score @ 4.25″

another piece, 4.50″ x 5.50″ of Pool Party score @ .50″

Whisper White- inside panel, 4″ x 5.25″

3″ x 3″ Whisper White cardstock to cut out all the scallop circles-8 per card!

a larger piece, about 3″ x 4″ to cut out the stitched square for the scallop edges!

You will cut off about .50″ on the long sides of the scallop rectangle, for the edges

of the front flap.

scrap for cutting greeting banner- .50″ x 2.5″

Optional Layer…4″ x 5.25″ for the back of the Card (I used a piece of Pool Party!)

Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP– 4″ x 5.25  for the second layer of the card

You’re Inspiring- greeting

Fable Friends- bunny

Welcome Easter- inside sentiment

Easter Bunnies Stamp Set- (Ali Express) daffodils with rocks

Memento Tuxedo Black- all stamping

to color the front daffodils and rock (to avoid alcohol ink bleed-through

(I colored the rock in Stampin’ Blend Light Smoky Slate. You can see the bleed through)

Pineapple Punch, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Mango Melody for the rest of the coloring

Light Daffodil Delight, Light Pumpkin Pie, Light Smoky Slate, Light Old Olive

to color the inside daffodils and rocks

Light Petal Pink- bunny’s ears, nose, and buttons on coat

Light Pool Party- bunny’s coat

Banner Triple Punch- to flag greeting banner

Layering Circles Dies- a circle and scallop circle, nested, to make the 8 scallop frames!

Stitched Rectangle Dies- cut out a square from the largest rectangle, cut off

.50″ from each long side of that square, to make your scallop edge for front card flap

The angled front flap is made from 4.5″ x 5.25″ score on the short side @ .50″

from the top edge of the unscored side, measure in 2″ and make a small pencil mark

do the same on the opposite bottom side.

On the long side (5.50″) make a pencil mark @ 2.75″

Lay the card on your paper-cutter, using the 2″ pencil mark and the 2.75″ pencil mark.

Line them up with the cutter and cut off the corner piece. (a diagonal cut)

Do the same with the other side.

You will have your angled flap, for the card front.

Run a piece of Tear & Tape down the scored side of that angled flap piece

to adhere to the card.

Face the Card Base backwards to flap piece. (the flap will be adhered to the back)

The Card base is now all together.

Adhere the scalloped pieces made from the Stitched Scallop Rectangle,

(the 2 pieces cut off the rectangle) to the underside of the front flap,

snip to fit, off those ends.

Time to cut the circle holes:

On the front, flap piece place the circle die (far enough from the angle cut, pointed edge,

you will be cutting the scallop frame to go around the opening!) Run through the

Big Shot/Cuttlebug, or what ever machine you use.

Adhere the DSP to the second page and then close the card with flap over the DSP,

using a smaller circle die, place into the flap circle, with a pencil,

draw a circle on the  DSP.

Run through the Big Shot to cut out that circle piece!

Close the card, with the DSP side, using the same smaller circle die,

place into the last cut circle hole, with a pencil make a circle. onto the

Whisper White piece now. Open up the Card to expose only the Whisper White.

Stamp your bunny, centered, into the penciled circle. Erase the pencil circle mark.

Stamp your daffodils and rocks onto the card. Stamp the inside sentiment.

Color the daffodils and rocks on the card front with the Stampin’ Wright Markers.

Color the inside daffodils and rocks with the Stampin’ Blends.

Run the Whisper White piece, with the 2 Layering Dies to make scallop Frames (8)

Adhere the Whisper White, scallop frame circles, to die-cut holes, to frame. et Voila’ !

Here is the Card, again!

I love how this card turned out!

I will do this Fancy Fold again!

Until the next Post…Blessings and Bunny kisses to you ALL!
