Hello All!
Happy Day after Mother’s Day…the real continuation of being a Mother!
I hope you had a great Day…my kiddos called…it was good to hear from them!
Today’s Card is for a combination of 2 Challenges!
A Trend Challenge from
Just Us Girls #487 (JUGS487)
Here is the Challenge Prompt…
I used a Bold and Beautiful ‘Birthday’ Greeting!
The second Challenge is from
TGIFC #211 (TGIFC211)
Here is the Challenge!
No Layers! Back to Basics! Love it!
Here is my Card!
I used my Aqua Painter, filled with alcohol, not water,
and So Saffron Ink (from the lid) to watercolor the cake!
I prefer using alcohol…it dries much faster, it doesn’t warp the card,
and I don’t have to use ‘Watercolor Paper’! Cool, Huh?
Here is the inside of my Card!
I used the markers straight onto the inside cake!
HERE ARE THE STOCK AND MEASURES:
CARDSTOCK:
Whisper White Thick- card base. 8.5″ x 5.5″ score @ 4.25″ fold in half on the score
STAMP SETS:
Cake Soirée- cake on card front
Stylized Birthday- greeting
Picture Perfect Birthday- inside sentiment
Piece of Cake- inside cake and candles
INK:
Stazon Black- cake on front and inside
Calypso Coral- greeting and inside sentiment
So Saffron- to ‘watercolor’ cake base
STAMPIN’ WRITE MARKERS:
for coloring on the flowers on both cakes:
Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and Petal Pink
TOOLS:
Aqua Painter- filled with regular, household, rubbing alcohol, for ‘watercoloring’ the cake, on card front. I picked up the ink from the Stamp Pad’s lid, after squeezing it!
Here is a peek at the Card once again!
No Layers! Simple! Love it!
Until the next Post…Blessings and Back to Basics to you ALL!
I have those painters and have never used alcohol. Thanks for the awesome tip! Your card is awesome! The softness of the cake was such a great idea! Thanks for sharing your talents with us at Just Us Girls this week!
