ON A ANOTHER NOTE:
The clean up here is still a slow going process. The POA has been in touch with the Waste Management Services, and we are definitely on a clean up list…we need to be patient for out turn. Some people are anxious, but understandable, since they have to look at all that was destroyed, sitting in their front yards. Some, it was all they owned. All they have left is the outer walls of their homes, if they’re there. The BIG problem here now is MOSQUITOS!
Asian Mosquitos, they are the BIG ones. Money was just allocated for a big spraying to be done in all the affected counties. Bee Keepers are asked to cover their hives at night to protect the bees, since spraying will be done at night. We still need out bees!
I have been busy inside my home cleaning and doing my laundry and a month’s worth of ironing…I left it piled when I evacuated. I also didn’t iron last week, I was busy making and delivering meals…I am trying to get myself back into a new ‘normal’ routine. I used to rise and then go do ‘Swimnastics’ but, our Pools her (one outdoor and one indoor) were flooded by the water surges and the Recreation Center was also flooded. It will take awhile to get them ready and operational again…so I may start walking again, but it will have to be mid morning, to avoid the mosquito attacks. I will spray down first!
I Thank you ALL for reading my posts and praying for the people here in New Bern. Please continue your prayers for them. So much discouragement and loss and sadness. But I do have to say, Historic Downtown New Bern, is coming back well! They are going to go ahead with the ‘MUM Festival’ downtown…all proceeds to go for Hurricane Relief. There is still a small town under some water, the town of Lake Clement…the drainage is at lake level, well the level of the Lake is a couple of feet over flood stage, so the water had no where to go…hoping the dry spell helps evaporate and allows the ground to absorb the excess faster. One problem…this coming weekend, our dry spell will end with chances of showers/rain everyday for a week…pray it is only passing, quick showers…we are hardly in a drought situation here! Thanks All and God Bless You!
Until the next Post…Blessings and God’s Love to you ALL!
