Welcome Baby!

There is a company the I used to so some of their Sketch Challenges.

The Company name was Verve Stamps. Julie the owner, has retired her company…the duties of being a good Mother has become a priority, as it should! So she had a going out of business sale! I bought a stamp set and a cutting die from her. In my package, Julie sent 2 pieces of DSP. I used them to make both of today’s Card!

Here are the Cards!

Waterfront Sites!

Hello Everyone!

Mr. Hubster and I used to go camping, every Summer at Miles Standish State Forest for 10 years! The first 5 years were in a tent, then we bought a used Winnebago and considered it a tent off the ground. Our 2 kids preferred the tent, so we’d pitch the tent next to the camper. They would also bring friends and we would alternate the tent for girls only, to boys only! The other one would sleep in the camper with us!

Today’s card reminds me of our camping days…

Living here in NC now, we are surrounded by Pine trees. The Pine Trees here are called Long Leaf Pines…they are gorgeous, but those lone pine ‘leaves’? A tedious chore to rake. I now use my leaf blower and I blow them all under the pines. The people here called it “Pine Hay”! It can be used for mulching your gardens! Natural mulch with no chemicals…I like that!

Here is the inside of the Card!

100_4867

I kept this clean and easy! Plenty of space to write that personal note!

Stock and Measures:

Cardstock:

Whisper White Thick-card base, 8.5″ x 5.5″ scored @ 4.25″ fold in half on the score

Whisper White Regular-front panel, watercolored, 3.75″ x 5″

Mango Medley-mat under front panel, 4″ x 5.25″

Stamp Set:

Watercolor-all stamping

Inks:

Coastal Cabana-water, light

Bermuda Bay-water, dark

Balmy Blue-sky

Sahara Sand-light mountains

Soft Suede-dark mountains

Old Olive-land line

Mossy Meadow-trees on front and inside

Early Espresso-greeting, inside sentiment

Tools:

Aqua Painter-filled with rubbing alcohol

I like to use alcohol over water…it dries faster, the card curl is minimal, and I like it better than water, because it dries quickly! With water in the Aqua Painter, you must use Watercolor Paper. With alcohol, I just use my regular Whisper White Cardstock.

Congrats to Emily the Grad!

Hello All!

My Brother’s Grand-daughter graduated from High School the day I flew up to RI.

Go East Providence Townies!

I made a Card with her school colors,

Red and White!

Here is the Card I made for Emily!

100_4864

To make the striped front, I used post-it notes across the front about 1 1/2″ apart.

I then marked in pencil, across the post-its, 1/2″ increments.

I then, drew the diagonal thick lines, using a ruler.

Using the ‘brush’ thick end of the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker,

I drew the thicker lines.

Using the fine tip end on the Real Red Stampin’ Marker,

I drew in between the thick lines, the thin lines.

Using the fine tip on the Black Stampin’ Write Marker, I drew over the

Real Red thick lines, to give it a little more contrast.

I then cut out the Large Numbers, now retired,

and glued down over the drawn, striped, strip. (say that 3X fast!!!)

Here is the inside of the Card!

100_4865

I thought about the photos, AFTER, I signed the card! A check will be enclosed!

I used the Owl Builder Punch, now retired, to make the owl!

The owl’s hat is a 1″ square! I attached a piece of white bakers twine to

the back of the hat and will pull it over the ear, when I close up the card!

Stock and Measures:

Cardstock:

Real Red-card base, 8.5″ x 5.5″ score @ 4.25 fold in half on the score line.

-for the large numbers, for the owl, body, eyes, heart

Whisper White-front and inside panels, 4″ x 5 1/4″

-scraps for parts of the owl, eyes and vest

Basic Black-1″ square for the hat

Stamp Sets:

Suite Sentiments-retired, inside sentiment

Ink:

Memento Tuxedo Black Stamp Pad-words on front, inside sentiment

Big Shot-die cutting machine
