Lots of Lavender for TSOT March Technique Challenge: Embossing

Hello Friends!

Than you Again for stopping by today!

I didn’t Post yesterday…truth be told…I didn’t have a Card to post!

I worked on 3 Cards and Today’s Card is one of them!

Today’s Card is for a

Technique Challenge: Embossing

either Impression Embossing OR Heat Embossing

for TSOT’s March Technique Challenge!

Here is the Challenge!

march-tech

Embossing can be done 2 ways…using an Embossing Folder on cardstock or using Embossing powders and Heat Setting. The example above does both techniques…I chose to do the same!

Here is my Card!

100_4572

I used Tranquil Tide for the card base and Pool Party for the Embossed cardstock layer.

Here is a close-up of my Card to show both!

100_4576

With the Big Shot die-cutting and embossing machine…

I used Stampin’Up! Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF for the bottom layer, and I stamped the ‘Lavender’ in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and quickly covered with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. I colored in the flower and stems with Stampin’ Write Markers: Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry, and Rose Red.

Here is a peek at the inside of my Card!

100_4573

I used Rich Razzleberry for the inside sentiment from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set. The flower over the sentiment is from the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set! These were stamped, I did not heat emboss the flowers above OR on the envelope!

Here is my Card with it’s stamped to match envelope!

Z-Fold Birthday Cards!

Hello Everyone!

A Blessed Sunday to you ALL!

Today’s Card is one I CASEd from another

Stampin’Up! Demonstrator, Connie Stewart.

Connie made this cute little poodle Card and I had

to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) this cute Card!

Here is Connie’s Card!

Connie Stewart fancy fold poodle card

I used this photo to show what the Z-Fold Card is all about!

Connie used 2 pcs of DSP cut at 2″ X 5 1/4″

Here is my take on Connie’s Card!

100_4538

The closed card…isn’t that poodle Stinkin’ cute?

Here is my Card opened up!

100_4539

100_4540

I stamped and positioned and changed my Card up to make it mine!

I stamped a sentiment and balloons on the inside panel!

I also didn’t use DSP like Connie did on her Card…truth be told…I didn’t have

any Pink Pirouette DSP!

Not to be outdone or anything…I also made a Masculine Card!

Here is my Masculine Z-Fold Birthday Card!

100_4542

I have a couple of nephews who are going to get these!

Here is the masculine Card opened up!

Using the same sentiment and balloons…just changed the coloring!

100_4543

I tried to color a poodle blue…just didn’t cut it! So I went with the

fox and let him ‘carry’ the banner.

Ready for mailing!

Pink Pirouette-card base 8 1/2″ X 6 3/4″, on the 8 1/2″ side, Score @ 2 1/8″, and 4 1/4″ turn the card one turn on your Paper Trimmer and cut the 6 3/4″ side down to 5 1/2″ (that gives you your strip for the opposite fold) you need the scoring on that piece before cutting…you then will flip it around and use the long scored part on the front and the short scored part on the back.

Masculine:

Marina Mist-same measurements as the feminine card!

Both Cards:

Happy Birthday for CCSC #263

Hello Folks!

Welcome Back for another Sketch Challenge!

It just happened that I fell into 3 in a row!

Here is Today’s Sketch Challenge

from

CAS Colours & Sketch Challenge #263

CCSC263

100_4534

I had to take a picture of the sketch, I couldn’t get the links picture to copy…

I could print the picture, but I couldn’t save it to my file. It showed a

blank tile in the file! Oh well, this will have to do!

Here is my take on the Sketch Challenge!

100_4527

I first cut the DSP to sit angularly across the front of the card…and then I

had a brain moment…I decided to use the cut off corners instead!

Here is the inside of my Card!

100_4530

For the balloons I used the Emerald Envy for the outline, and then

the Lemon Lime Twist for the solid color!

Here is my Card with a stamped to match envelope!

100_4533

When I first saw the DSP…those ‘bubbles’ looked like balloons to me…

I decided to go with the balloons for that ‘Birthday Pop’!

(and not the popping of the balloon! LOL!)

Stock and Measures:

Cardstock:

Soft Sky-card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ scored @ 4 1/4 folded in half on the score

Whisper White-inside panel, 4″ X 5 1/4″

Emerald Envy-corner piece mats, greeting, a balloon on front

Lemon Lime Twist- a balloon on front

DSP:

Naturally Eclectic-corner pieces

Stamp Sets:

Balloon Celebration-balloons inside and on envelope

Party With Cake-retired, inside sentiment

Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads:

Emerald Envy-inside sentiment and balloon outlines

Lemon Lime Twist-solid balloons inside and on envelope

Tools:

Big Shot-die cutting machine

Happy Birthday Thinlits-greeting

Balloon Punch-2 balloons on front, popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Here is my Card again!

100_4527

I did use a White Gel Pen to make the ‘shine marks’ on the front balloons!

I do have to say…this looks like a party!

Another Card for my stash…this could either be masculine or feminine!

But, I probably will put it with the masculine cards!

Until the next Post…Blessings and Celebrations to you ALL!

Love is in the Air…for SIP 141

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back for a peek at Today’s Card!

It is another Sketch Challenge!

I LOVE Sketch Challenges!

I seem to gravitate towards the same layouts and these

sketch challenges broaden my abilities!

On to Today’s Challenge and Card!

Here is the Sketch Challenge!

from

Stamps Ink Paper (SIP) #141

SIP-141

Here is my take on the Challenge!

100_4523

I Love the fact that I had the chance to use this DSP!

‘Springtime Florals’ from the Sale-A-Bration (S-A-B) Catalog!

Sorry about the glare…the greeting is “Thinking of You”!

I heat embossed that in GOLD!

Here is the inside of my Card!

100_4524

The Love is all over this Card!!!!

Inside Sentiment is also heat embossed in Gold!

I added a piece to the envelope flap! How Elegant!!!

100_4526

I took 5 pics of this duo and this was the best…I couldn’t get the flash to go

off on my camera…I don’t know why, it went off for the other two pictures!

This was the best of the 5, so I went with it! I kind of like the reflection of the

envelope flap on the strip of Champagne Foil!

Stock and Measures:

Cardstock:

Emerald Envy-8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ scored @ 4 1/4″ folded in half on the score

Whisper White-inside panel, 4″ X 5 1/4″

Champagne Foil Sheet-strip panel on front, 1 1/2″ X 5 1/2″

-square mat, 3 1/2″ X 3 1/2″

DSP:

S-A-B Springtime Florals Specialty DSP-square on front, 3 3/8″ X 3 3/8″

-envelope flap, 2 1/2″ X 6″, glue onto flap and then trim around the envelope flap

Ink Pad:

VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad-pre-stamp for heat embossing greeting and inside sentiment

Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder-greeting and inside sentiment

Tools:

Heat Tool-for heat embossing greeting and inside sentiment

Stamp Sets:

Heartfelt Blooms-greeting

Special Celebrations-inside sentiment

Here is my Card again!

100_4523

I have a ‘special’ someone to give this to…do you have a ‘special’ someone that

needs to ‘feel the Love’? Make it up and send the Love! They will have their

heart and spirits lifted…what a great thing to feel…maybe that song

by Burt Bacharach, sung by Dionne Warwick rings true:

“What the World needs now is Love, Sweet Love.

It’s the only thing, that there’s just too little of…”

Until the next Post…Blessings and Much Love to you ALL!

Masculine Birthday for FMS328

Hello All!

Welcome back for a peek at Today’s Card

Today’s Card is for a Sketch Challenge from

Freshly Made Sketches #328

Here is the Challenge!

FMS328

Here is my take on the sketch!

100_4520

We can always use Masculine Cards! I know I do!

My finished inside!

100_4521

Mr. Hubster loves to Fish…and so do many of the men in my extended family!

Ready for giving with it’s stamped to match envelope!

100_4522

Night of Navy-front square mat, mat for banner (hand trimmed to fit banner)

Calypso Coral-seahorse, 1 fish inside, envelope fish

Night of Navy-greeting, 1 inside fish

Soft Suede-inside anchor

Pear Pizzazz-sea grass, inside

I didn’t have to embellish or “Bling-Up”…it stands well enough on it’s own for

giving…it is going to a young man, and they aren’t the “Blingy” type!

I think I even surprised myself that this card was pretty much made

with no other tools, other than the Stampin’Up! Paper Trimmer!

Just like the old days of Card Making! Oh, don’t get me wrong…I love my tools!

Sometimes simplicity speaks volumes!

What do you think? Do you use tools all the time or do you keep it simple?

Let me know, I am curious too!

Until the next Post…Blessings and Simple joys to you ALL!
