Hello Everyone!
Thank You for peeking in for Today’s Card!
As you all know, I hold a Class the first Wednesday of the Month
at the Activity Center, where I live…our next meeting is April 4th.
We will be doing the ‘bleach’ technique!
In setting up the materials for this project, I realized my Cards (Yes there are 2!)
were perfect for this Sketch Challenge for
Freshly Made Sketches #329
Here is the Challenge!
Here are the Cards, my takes on the Sketch Challenge!
The First Card!
I kept this real simple! I used Tangerine Tango for the Butterfly and
using my Aqua Painter, filled with bleach, I brushed over the wings, except
for the centers of the 4 wings! It faded it to a yellow tinge, so I used
Daffodil Delight for the card base! The orange wasn’t too predominant,
I used the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon to accent what
orange was left on the Butterfly!
Here is the inside!
Clean and Simple and plenty of space for a personal note!
I had to stamp an envelope to match!
So Cute!
Card # 2
I used Pear Pizzazz for a Card base for this card! After the bleaching,
the butterfly was blue and greenish! I started with Pacific Point for the
blue butterfly…the bleaching seemed to turn it a yellowish-green!
That is why I went with the Pear Pizzazz…I tried Lemon Lime Twist, nope!
Here is the inside, same as Card #1
Lots of space for that personal note!
And, I did stamp an envelope to match!
The envelope’s aren’t going to be included to the class,
they are for my personal use after the class is finished!
I had to have samples to show the Ladies the results!

The Bleaching Technique
Select a mid to dark cardstock color.
Stamp a large open image in VersaMark.
Sprinkle with Stampin’ Embossing Powder
Heat Emboss to set the image. Let cool.
Using an Aqua Painter filled with bleach,
brush gently over the areas you want to ‘bleach out’.
Go slow and do complete coverage of those areas!
Let dry completely (you can use the Heat Tool to speed up drying!)
Fussy-cut the ‘bleached’ image out and attach to your card base of choice!
Here are my Cards, again!
I do like how these turned out…I used the ‘non-splash’ bleach.
I need to find out if ‘plain’ bleach works the same way!
So what do you think?
I have to say, the bleach smell isn’t bad at all…I was pleasantly surprised by that!
Is there a difference in bleaches?
I don’t know, I haven’t tried…Have any of you?
Let me know how, or if there is a difference in what bleach you use!
Until the next Post…Blessings and FUN techniques to you ALL!
Sweet set of cards! Love those butterflies! Thank you for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Your butterflies are beautiful! You are great with the bleaching technique! Glad you joined us at FMS!
